True Church Conference at Grace Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, Alabama will be February 16 - 18. The conference is free. The only expense is hotel and food. Speakers will be: David Miller, Jeff Noblit, Barry King, Brett Beasley and Roy Hargrave. Please see Bro. Once again the food bank is in need of bags: paper, plastic, etc. It seems there are so many families out there in need. Please keep our food bank in your prayers and remember them when you unload your groceries at home. Don't toss those bags, they can certainly be used here.

If you would like to contribute one or more poinsettias to decorate the sanctuary for the Christmas holiday please sign up on the flower calendar located on the wall outside the Church office. The price of the flowers will be between $12 and $15 each dependent on the vendor.

Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be next Sunday, November 20, following the 11:00 a.m. service. There will not be an 8:30 a.m. service that morning or a Sunday night service.. Please sign up on the posted board in the foyer and let us know how many are coming with you. Please consider bringing one or more of the side dishes listed on the sign up board and be sure to pick up your serving pan for those dishes where pans are being provided. We are looking forward to the food and fellowship! You may call Emma Griffin at 492-9111 or 232-3720 with questions.

Revival with Rev. David Miller will be held Thursday, November 3rd through Sunday morning service, November 6th beginning each evening at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to keep our church family and revival in your prayers.“ Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? (Psalm 85:6 ESV)

PBBC will be hosting our annual “Chili & Pumpkin Pie

Cook-off” Friday, October 21. Get out your favorite chili

and pumpkin pie recipes and join us at 6:00 p.m. for judging

and eating. It’s always a great time of fellowship and good

food. We look forward to having you join us!

Friday, Oct. 7 we are planning a “Family Campout” at

Big Lagoon State Park. Limited space is available, “first

come, first served.” Rules are as follows: tents only, bring

food for your personal family on Friday evening, the church

will provide breakfast Saturday morning, bathrooms and

showers are available for “city slickers.” The cost is $5 per

adult and children are free. Come enjoy a great time of fellowship,

worship and sitting by the fire eating s’mores!

September 25, 2011, next Sunday, we will honor our pastors with a “Pastor Appreciation/Barefoot In the Park” outing at Big Lagoon State Park (Governor’s Pavilion). There will be authentic Mexican cuisine, with the food and menu provided by Bro. Bill & Blanca Montalvo and the PBBC Hispanic Ministry. Sunday service will be held at the Pavilion at 11:00 a.m. There will NOT be an 8:30 a.m. service, Sunday school nor evening worship that Sunday. Lunch will be served at noon following the service. There will be fellowship and games from 1:00—5:00 p.m. This will be an event you won’t want to miss. Please be sure to signup, mark the number of people attending with you and the food items you are willing to bring.

Friday, August 19, we will have a “Back to School Scavenger Hunt”. It will be a church wide family event. We will eat at 6:00 p.m. followed by the scavenger hunt, a slide show of the photos and to top it off—Banana splits! 

Saturday, August 13, at 8:00 a.m. we will meet at PBBC to “Prayer Walk” Bailey Middle School and Longleaf Elementary. Paul “prayer walked” Athens, “For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription 'To the unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.” (Acts 17:23) Seeing the idol to an “unknown god” Paul began to preach to the city, of the God he knew personally. As our children prepare for a new school year let’s ask God to move in our schools. When we go to a place we can see new insights into how God wants us to pray. Join us!
